Launched in early 2009, the idea was very simple - making dining, days out, health and beauty and family days out locally more affordable whilst encouraging more customers into the business’s that participated in the book to increase their client base. Discount vouchers are of course nothing new as a way to promote business and there are some great companies both in the UK and around the world that inspired The Discount Book.
Since the launch of the 1st book we have seen unprecedented success with plans now for new editions in four other areas in the North East as more and more business’s approach us to promote them. This is a far cry from where we started - having to convince the first business’s to give the concept a go!
One of the core aims of the company is to raise money for the local community by partnering with local schools, charities and community organisations, The Discount Book offers an excellent way off raising money - whilst the customer saves money!
And of course our other aim is to introduce new customers to some of the fabulous outlets we have partnered with, we want to give our customers a great reason to try these outlets, perhaps for the 1st time, or maybe they’ve just forgotten how good they are!
The Discount Book is fast becoming the chosen method for outlets to reach their customers, when they realise the actual cost to bring just one customer through the door with traditional style advertising as apposed to our method there really is no comparison.
By the end of 2009 we had also launched our ‘white label’ service, allowing business, employers and fundraising organisations to have their own branding on the cover, the book can then act as a constant advert for them over the course of the year giving way to a whole host of new promotional possibilities from loyalty rewards for customers, to staff incentives and subscription rewards to bring on new customers.
